| After this past weekend we now can officially crown our two Players of the Year. In the Gents we have Matthew Finlay. Matthew made a fast start to the year with a couple of early wins. He won the Class 3 Nett in the Remembrance and also an early weekend Nett prize to move him to the top of the leaderboard. After one more weekend prize and firmly taking a strong lead on proceedings, things did slow down a little for Matthew in June and July giving hope to the chasing pack but another strong August and September, Matt has powered to a 29 point victory in the end. Congratulations Matthew. The ladies winner Catherine Leonard is a massive supporter of all competitions. Multiple cards every week and going from our records on the website this is a win that has been a long time coming. Early wins in the Captains Drive in and also the Remembrance would have given Catherine some early points to bring her into the top 10 on the Leaderboard. But a strong Summer really was what won this for her, winning the Captains Prize would have been a massive year in itself but to follow that up with the Player of the year is fantastic. Well done to Catherine on a fantastic year. There is one more competition of the normal calendar year which is the club foursomes and we have matches starting from Monday 22/09 all the way through to the Final on Friday 26/09. I would just like to thank everyone who has helped with competition results and doing duty over the year you have all been a massive help to me and I hope to have a few more new faces join me on competition committee next year. Anyone who has an interest in coming on competition's for next year or would like to know more about what needs to be done can get in contact with me or come and have a chat as I will be up in the club every evening this week.
