Also to the members who were floating around helping all the competitors with questions, ordering taxis and providing them with club gear well done to all. As a club we should be extremely proud of ourselves for all the work we done and made it such a great event and also Well done to Both Irish Teams winning the Double.
Moving on to our open which was a huge success. The weather was great which brought out some exceptional scoring and was good to see lots of familiar faces from clubs around the country. From myself I would just like to thank all the members who done Card Duty these Open events cannot be successful without the people who give up the couple of hours to help out behind the desk and I just want to say a big thank you for all the help. I would just like to give a special thank you to Liam Nelis who made himself available to help out every day and jumped in whenever he was needed. Thank You Liam and Thank you again all who done a shift.
We have another busy week this week with the Gents and Ladies Handicap matchplay which will be followed by the Dave Hayden Scratch Cup. Finals of the Matchplay are scheduled for Friday evening and I will update the website when we have our 4 finalists. Well done to Orla, Damian , Davey and all the guys who are involved with the organising and running of our scratch cup I know it will be a massive success.
Lastly over the weekend we had the final trial for Dublin teams and also the National Qualifiers. Well done to our 7 qualifiers and the best of luck in Cork hopefully we get another year of being home to a National Champion with Tom McMorrow giving back his 2024 Inter Trophy. A massive well done to Chris Gallagher, Stephen Needham, Alan Doyle and Niall Leahy who have made it onto their respective Dublin teams. The Inters and Ladies have a couple more trials before the teams are announced but will be all done over the next week or so. |
